Oh, hey! I had a baby!

Margaret "Maggie" Ann was born September 16 at 8:35 am. She weight 7lbs 4 oz.

I was in labor for 21 hours. No lie.

I won't go in to details, just know that labor is tough, but totally worth it.



I Done Forgot

I know what you're thinking. "Morgan, you should have this framed and hung in the nursery. Your boss lady has had you working from home for weeks now. You don't have anything to do...you're still pregnant."

I know, I know. I should have this framed and hung in the nursery, but I don't.  I've had it sitting downstairs to remind me to blog about it. Instead, I've walked past it several times a day and thought, "Aww...how cute!" Then I walk off and forget to blog about it.

EVENTUALLY I will frame it and hang it in the nursery. It's too cute to just leave sitting downstairs. I'm just too lazy to walk up the stairs and put it in the nursery.

40 Weeks

How Far Along: 40 weeks, 2 days

Size of baby: Baby is around the size of a pumpkin (19-22 inches, 6-9lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: up 26 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: most everything

Gender: 100% girl

Movement: It's getting less and less, but very powerful. Girlfriend is strong, but she's running out of room.

Sleep: I've been sleeping ok.

What I miss: running for long periods of time/working out hardcore, beer, and sushi.

Cravings: labor. Ha

Symptoms: uuggghhhh nothing. I'm so boring. I go back Thursday if I haven't birthed no baby by then. I'll do a BPP (B-something physical profile) which is a series of ultrasounds to determine how much amniotic fluid is left. Then we will talk induction. I don't want to be induced. I want this baby to show up on her own. We've still got time, right?

Miscellany Monday

-I'm still pregnant.

-Yesterday was super sad. Hormones or no hormones, I cried several times. I almost cried in church during the sermon. 10 years ago yesterday was such a sad day.

-The last week or so has been muuuuch cooler. It's been very nice. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be mid-90's. I mean, it's not too bad, but it's warmer than I would like. Too bad I'm not in charge of the weather.

-Friday I took a bunch of old silver jewelry that I hadn't work in 10+ years to a gold & silver place. I got $40! Not too shabby!

39 Weeks

How Far Along: 39 weeks, 3 days (9 months)

Size of baby: Baby is around the size of a watermelon (19-22 inches, 6-9lbs)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: up 26 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: most everything

Gender: 100% girl

Movement: It's getting less and less, but very powerful. Girlfriend is strong, but she's running out of room.

Sleep: I've been sleeping ok.

What I miss: running for long periods of time/working out hardcore, beer, and sushi.

Cravings: breakfast burritos. Delicious, delicious breakfast burritos.

Symptoms: lower back is hurting. pelvis is hurting. I went to the doctor last Thursday. I was 50% effaced, 1 1/2 cm dilated. Whatever all of that means :)

 

I go back this Thursday...maybe there will be something more goin on.

I just got back from a surprise baby shower at Nate's office. He called me this morning and asked if I was busy, then told me to look descent and head to his office. The ladies got us a ton of super cute clothes, bibs, burp clothes, etc.

Nate's boss's wife put together the coolest thing ever. It's called "Daddy Doody Kit".

She got a clear paint can from Michael's and put this cute kit together. 

I plan on "borrowing" this idea for future baby showers :)

It's OK...

-To be obsessed with a cup. A few weeks ago, I got this super cute cup from Monogram Chick. I love it!

-To be obsessed with Baby B's going home outfit :)

-To still not be ok with people saying how "big" I look. Pregnant or not, I don't know any woman who wants to be told she looks big. Just don't say it.

-To be super excited to get back to the gym and work out hardcore after giving birth. I'm pumped about it now, not sure how I'll feel when the time comes.

-To be extra, extra, super excited for football season. I heart OU!

-To be super sad that I'm missing the first game because it's a week before my due date. I don't want my water to break in Norman and have to drive back to Tulsa in labor. This is the first parenting decision Nate Dawg and I have had to make :).
