Really!?!

This may be a long post...

A few months ago, Nate Dawg and I talked with our friends Katy and Robert about going to the Smoky Mountains. We haven't been there since we've lived in TN, and now that we're moving away we're wanting to go. Of course. Well, we were supposed to go this wknd. When we go out of town, Katy and Robert watch Norman. When they go out of town, we watch their 2 yorkies, Aly and Aiden. Since the 4 of us were going somewhere together, we had to find a hotel that took dogs.

I guess this is a busy wknd in the Smoky Mountains, bc we couldn't find anything. So, we thought about going to Chattanooga and doing some stuff there. Blah blah blah, Nate Dawg's couldn't come into town this weekend, blah blah blah. So Katy and Robert were still going to go. I told them I would watch their dogs.

That was my first mistake. We're trying to sell our house here in TN, so I can move back in with my husband in Oklahoma. So they drop the dogs off yesterday. Last night, I get a call that we have a showing Friday morning from 9:45-10:45. I already had Friday off bc we were supposed to go somewhere, so it wasn't a big deal.

I get up this morning, remember that the plumber is supposed to come at 8:30 bc I've messed up the toilet again, and I start cleaning and what not. 9:45 I'm trying to move the gigantic crate that the two tiny yorkies share into the garage. I run into the wall, food and water go everywhere. I start yelling.

Really!?!

When Morgan yells, that forces yorkies to hide. I couldn't find the dadgum dogs. I'm freakin' out because it's 9:45, there's dog food and water all over the place, and I'm supposed to be out of here. When I get upset like that, Norman always tries to make it better. So I have him following me around trying to make me calm down and just pet him. And when I start petting him, he sits all comfy on my feet, then falls to the ground. Adorable, but I'm still stressed. So I get a towel, clean up all the crap I spilled, grab Norman's leash and shake it. The sound of his tags on his collar (attached to the leash. Norman doesn't wear a collar in the house), gets the yorkies attention. They come running down the stairs. I get everyone loaded up.

I end up being so stressed that I don't leave the house until 9:55. That was ok bc the realtor wasn't here yet. I start backing out of the driveway, then I see that one light in the house is not on. I stop the car, put it in park, tell the dogs I'll be back, and race into the house. The light that I thought was off is actually on. But I knew something wasn't right. So I go back outside, start to shut the garage door, then realize that I left the rugs in the dryer. I like to fluff the bathroom rugs before someone comes to look at the house. So I open the garage door again, race inside, grab them out of the dryer, run upstairs, put them down perfectly on the bathroom floors, then run back downstairs, outside, and into the car.

I figure all is well in the world. Wrong.

I run some errands with the dogs; get gas, go to Starbucks, drive around and look at houses. By 10:45 the people haven't showed up. So I figure they're no shows. No biggie. So I go inside, move all the crap back in that I took out. Dog food stand, dog cage, bags of crap I don't have anywhere to put. Ya know, stuff like that. So at 10:55 I start a load of laundry and start living my life again. 10:57 the dogs start barking.

Really!?!

Guess who decided to show up late to look at the house? Oh yes. I had already turned off all the lights, turned off the mood music, shut the bedroom doors upstairs. Grr...so I start throwing crap back in my car. Try to get the dogs to get in the car. I open the front door and apologize to the realtor. I said, "I'm sorry, I thought y'all were supposed to be here by 10:45. We will be out of here in a minute. I also just started a load of laundry." So I run into the garage and realize Aly, one of the yorkies, isn't with us. Dadgum dog won't come out of the house. So I have to go back in, pick him and and throw him in the car.

I get all situated, open the garage door, and the realtor is parked right behind me. So I can't leave. I am just sitting in my car in the garage with 3 dogs.

Really!?!

Then the folks come into the garage. Our bonus room (man cave) is above the garage. So I'm  trying not to make eye contact with them as they walk up there. So like 10 minutes later, they walk outside. The realtor comes into the garage, I open my door and she starts apologizing. I said, "Oh no, that's fine..." As I say that, all 3 dogs start barking. She can't hear me. So I nod and shut my door.

Really!?!

I hope those people make an offer on our house, but I don't think it will happen.

Really realtor lady???!!! You can tell the 3rd party company that schedules the showings a 2 hr time period that you may come see the house. But you said 9:45-10:45 and you show up afterwards. All you had to do was call the 3rd party company and say you're running late. Then they would've called me and everything would've been fine. But ya didn't.

I was so upset. I called my mom, Nate's mom, my bff, and no one would answer. So I called Nate. At work.

Really!?!

I start off, "Are you busy..." as I'm sniffling. I tell him everything and he said he was sorry and he wishes he could be there with me blah blah blah. Doesn't make me feel better. So I get ahold of my mom. And she just laughs. It wasn't a chuckle. It was a very loud laugh, almost a cackle. And that makes me laugh. So we both sat there and laughed on the phone for a while.

And now I feel better.

Really.

Thankful Thursday

Here is what I am thankful for at the moment:

-Today is my Friday! Holla!

-I just found out I won a facial from this spa on facebook! I've been to the spa before and became a fan on facebook and they just told me that I won last week! Woo hoo!

-I'm so very thankful for my family. I'm looking for new Christmas stockings for Nate and myself (because of Erin) and shopping for Chistmas stuff makes me think of my family. When I think of my family, I smile.

-I'm currently typing 1 handed because Norman won't let me stop petting him. When I stop, he puts his nose under my arm and makes me pet him. I'm thankful that I have my cutie dog.

-I'm watching the "In the Spotlight" from last night where Robin Roberts came to Nashville and interviewed some country music people. They've been talking about the May floods. We were out of school for 3 days because of flooding. People lost their homes and their lives.

We did not have any damage at our house. And for that I am thankful.

-I am also thankful that Robin Roberts is showing some of their houses. I've lived here for a year and 1/2 and I have yet to see anyone famous. Maybe I can stalk these folks. So for you Robin Roberts, I am thankful. : )

Thank you Google Images for the photos.

While I was searching for a good "Thankful Thursday" image, I found this:

Giveaway

Lauren at Bluegrass Love is hosting a giveaway!

Disclaimer: If you win, you must give me the prize. Sorry, it's like the law or something.

Top 2 Tuesday

It's Top 2 Tuesday Again!

Top 2 gifts you have received.

1. Norman, my dog. My father-in-law promised he would get me a dog after Nate Dawg and I were married. Nate and I lived in a 650 square ft. apartment for the first 10 months of marriage (ugh). The weekend after we bought our first house my inlaws went to Shawnee, Oklahoma and picked out Normie! We were first thinking of naming him Boomer or Sooner or Stoops. Then we decided on Norman Bosworth. 10 cool points if you can tell me what those 2 names have in common.

If you are going to get a dog, get a goldendoodle. They are WONDERFUL. He is hypoallergenic, doesn't shed, has the personality of a golden retriever, build of a poodle. He's really lean. The vet called him an athlete. I raise my dog right.

2. Engagement ring from Nate Dawg. Who else would it be from? I like it because 1. it's pretty good size 2. it has these badace facets, so light bounces off of it really well. It's pretty entertaining on a long roadtrip. 3. Nate Dawg gave it to me. That should probably be #1.

I don't normally take pics of my ring, but as I was trying to take one Norman followed me. So I got my 2 favorite things in the same pic!

How cute does Norman look????

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. We've had some luck with our house. I will not talk about it yet because I don't want to jinx it.

2. The tree in the backyard has been chopped and removed. I did get the guy to leave some of it for firewood. So that was pretty exciting.

3. I need to get my hair done bad. And that's all I have to say about that.

4. OU won! Boomer Sooner!

5. Our neighbor's 5 month old puppy died Thursday. So, so sad. He was a black goldendoodle and was sooooooo cute. And he was such a good puppy. He died of parvo. They are not sure how he contracted it. He will be missed. Here's a pic of Norman, Leia and Shadow playing a few weeks ago

Here are some of Shadow looking over his fence. He was so, so precious. And such a good doggie.

Oooh, that makes me so sad.

6. I don't like cold weather. I would rather it be 75ish for a while longer. Not ready for 40's and 50's. Not cool man.

Fill in the Blank Friday

Wait, what day is it?

I missed Fill in the Blank Friday. Oops my bad. I worked, came home and tried to get the house cleaned up, found out our neighbor's 5 month old puppy died :(, helped my friend Elizabeth with her newborn while she bathed her 13 month old, picked Nate Dawg up at the airport (his flight was delayed), then met friends at a bar/grill for dinner and drinks. Therefore, I did not have time to blog. Forgive me, dears.

1. My Halloween plans this year will include either cooking out with my neighbors, or avoiding all trick or treaters and eating their candy. Last year Nate Dawg brought out our grill and made food for everyone in our driveway. This year he is not here. And this is one of the grills:

Sam did this
2. My most memorable Halloween costume was my Barbie/clown outfit. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to be, so I wore the Barbie outfit with a clown wig. My parents have the picture, I don't have it here. But it was good times.

3. For Halloween this year I'm going to be super hot girl sitting in her house? ha

4. I've always wanted to dress up as your mom. Similar to Mallory's costume, except with mom jeans. Ya know, high waisted, tapered ankle jeans. I'm laughing just thinking about it.

5. Halloween free association! I don't get this. I was trying to figure out what it would mean and somehow got Garth Brooks American Honky-Tonk Bar Association in my head.

6. The worst thing about Halloween is it's cold. And I eat way too much candy.

7. The best thing about Halloween is I eat way too much candy.

Candy, Candy, Candy

Normally, I go shopping for Halloween candy at least a week before Trick or Treating. When I buy candy early, I eat some most of it, then I have to go shopping for more of it right before the big event. It's a sickness.

Yesterday I made my way to the candy aisle in Target. Not a good idea when you are hungry. There were bags of candy for $14.99. Ridic. After much research, I settled on a mixed bag of 100 pieces of Kit Kat, Reese's, Whoppers, and Hershey bars. Then I opened the bag before I left the store. Oops.

So, now that I've managed to eat about half of this bag of candy and my pants are snug, I've decided I may not participate in Trick or Treating this year. Is that bad? I would kind of rather sit on my couch and watch TV and eat the rest of this candy than get up every time the doorbell rings. Plus, Norman is so big that he scares kids. Especially when they ring the doorbell. Dog has a ferocious bark.

All in all, I'm doing this for Norman. Or the kids. Or their parents. Or something like that.

The candy that is left is housed in the obligatory Star Wars can.

Yes, we're adults. But it's the obligatory, so it's required. I have to put candy in there. And I'm pretty sure it's in the family law somewhere that all candy must be consumed ASAP. Or something like that.

I found this disturbing information on Skinny Runner's website. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
